Voice Access on Android Quick Start Guide
Updated for Android 13 and 14 (2023–2024). Designed for full hands-free control of Android devices.
Turning Voice Access On/Off
- Start Voice Access: Say "Hey Google, Voice Access", or tap the Voice Access button (if enabled in accessibility shortcuts).
- Pause Voice Access: Say "Stop Voice Access".
- Resume Voice Access: Say "Start Voice Access".
Basic Voice Commands
- Tap Item: Say "Tap [name of item]" (e.g., "Tap Settings").
- Scroll: Say "Scroll down", "Scroll up", "Scroll right", or "Scroll left".
- Go Back: Say "Go back".
- Go Home: Say "Go home".
- Open App: Say "Open [App Name]".
Using Number Overlays
- Show Numbers: Voice Access automatically overlays numbers on clickable items.
- Activate Item: Say the number shown on screen (e.g., "Tap 7").
Text and Dictation
- Start Typing: Say "Type [your text]" (e.g., "Type hello how are you").
- Delete Text: Say "Delete [word or phrase]".
- Correct Text: Say "Replace [word] with [new word]".
Editing and Tips
- Select Text: Say "Select [text]".
- Move Cursor: Say "Move cursor before [word]".
